#Old school diamondback bmx upgrade#
So if it's time to replace that old bent fork, or you just want to upgrade your current fork, this baby will do the job. It does not work well on'mini'type bikes that are using 20 X 1-1/8" or 1-3/8" tires. It is designed to work on standard 20" bikes. Many of these bikes are still using the threaded headset. It also fits alot of'department store' bikes, such as many of the Mongoose-type bikes, that are still sold through Wal Mart, Costco, etc. That were built before the threadless system became the standard. This fork will fit a ton of'old-school' BMX bikes.

This sparked an interest in importing bikes & Diamond Back They were told they could keep them if they removed the WSI, an importer in So Cal was accidently sent a few Raleighīicycles. Today Diamondback has a renewed focus on dirt & street BMX styles with riders from the UK, Europe & USA competing in major events such as the X Games & Dew Tour. With the success of the race team Diamond Back took to the screen with the release of BMX Bandits in 1983 which featured one of the characters riding a Diamond Back Senior ProĪlso, 1983 saw the introduction of the Viper model, a name that has been in the Diamond Back BMX line up for over three decades. Under his leadership 'Scary' Harry Leary & Eddy King won many of the top US BMX races in the 1980's & helped develop new models that had unique features like the Turbo dropout & Diamond gusset. In the late 1970's & early 1980's Sandy Finkelman of Wheels n' Things was taken on to lead the Diamond Back BMX race team & product development division. Recently found this info on Diamond Back:
